REINSTATEMENT OF ATTORNEYS

Being suspended or disbarred from the practice of law can be devastating. It can feel like your entire identity is gone. Applying for readmission after a suspension or disbarment takes a great deal of care.

Before applying for reinstatement, you should consider the severety of the conduct that lead to the disbarment or suspension and in what ways the applicant addressed these issues. A suspension can be from one to five years. If you have been suspended you can reapply for admission as soon as your suspension is over. A thorough review of your particular circumstances is required. If you have been disbarred or resigned, you must wait seven years to reapply

When you file to be readmitted you must show the Committee that you are ready to uphold the higest ethical standards and have learned how to do that. This process is neither easy or fun. There is also no way to know how a Committee will feel about a particular candidate. If you are seeking readmission, contact The Law Offices of Michael S. Discioarro, LLC at 917-519-8417 for a confidential conversation on if and how we begin the process.
